Why My HP Printer Printing Slow? Fix Printer Running Slow Problem on Deskjet & LaserJet

HP printers are one of the most used printers in today’s scenario. Solution I: Resetting the printer

  • Turn on the printer.
  • The printer should be silent and idle before you start.
  • Remove the power cable from the backside of the printer without turning of the printer.

  • Rewire the power cable to the backside of the printer.

Solution II: Printer setting

Check for the settings of print driver from the Control Panel. There are certain types of paper or printing the best quality papers can slow down the printing process. If you are taking out printouts on the normal paper in Draft or Normal quality then your work will be done faster.

  • Open the Search option from the Windows start menu.
  • Search for Devices and printers option.

  • Go to the preferences option.

  • Select the Plain Paper option in the Paper type section.
  • For the Quality setting section, select draft or Normal option.
  • Press Apply or OK option to confirm the applied changes that recently made.
  • Close the HP driver window along with the Devices and Printers Window.

Solution III: Uninstall the printer

Remove the printer driver application that is saved in your system with the Uninstall a program tool from the Windows Program and Features. After uninstalling the program, you will have to install the latest driver version.

  • Disable the cable from the printer that connects printer to the computer.
  • Search for the Programs and Features option in the Search section in the Windows start menu.
  • Click on the Programs and Features from the list.
  • From the installed program list, select the HP printer name that you are using and press Uninstall.

  • If your printer is connected to the network through the Ethernet Cable, then check for proper connection.
  • Reboot your router by unplugging it and then plugging it. You will have to wait for 10 seconds before plugging in the cord to the router.
