If you confront QuickBooks error H101 on more than one workstation, it is an indication that multi-user mode is enabled on other workstations besides server host. One has to remember that the server must be the only device where you have enabled the multi-user mode.

Therefore, it is advised that you disable host multi-user mode on the workstation. Follow these steps for that:

  • Launch the “QuickBooks” software on which you are receiving QuickBooks error H101.
  • Now, go to the “File” option.

Users have to follow the same steps for other workstations where the multi-user mode is accessible.

Once done with the other workstations, you can move to your server device. This should be the only device where you should host the company file.

To host QuickBooks company file with your server device, you can do the following:

  • Launch “QuickBooks” software.

By following these steps, you will disable the host multi-user mode from other workstations and enable it only for the server computer.

After you allow QuickBooks service, you can continue accessing the company files. If you are still bothered by the H101 QuickBooks error then switch to the next step.
