I have a quick question, I have an HP office jet 4650 series. I currently have the printer connected to a desktop through an ethernet cord. Do I need to unplug the ethernet cord if i am going to connect to the printer wirelessly. I would like to print from my macbook pro wirelessly, is the ethernet cord connected to my desktop computer stopping that process? am I capable of printing from one device wirelessly and through ethernet on a different device?

No, you cannot connect a wired connection and wireless at the same time. As soon as you connect the ethernet cable the wireless connection is automatically disconnected.
