Remove, inspect, and then reinstall the cartridge: Make sure that there is not any clear protective tape on the cartridge.
Clean the contacts: Ink can build up on the cartridge contacts. clean the cartridge electrical contacts using a soft, lint-free material
Repeat the cleaning and reinstalling steps
Reset the printer: with the printer on, unplug the power cable fron the back the back of the printer, wait for a few minutes and plug the power cable into the printer.
