How to Set up Suddenlink Email on Apple Mail?

Suddenlink Email Settings For Outlook 2007

Insecure – Port: 143, Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
Do not tick “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)”.

Set “Use the following type of encrypted connection” to None.

Note: Select “This service requires a secure connection (SSL)” box for outgoing and Incoming mails to use “Secure SSL/TLS settings”.

13. Enter the following General SMTP port settings for Suddenlink.

Outgoing (SMTP) Secure – Port: 465, Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Secure – Port: 587, Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Outgoing (SMTP) – Port: 25, Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)

14. Press “OK” for saving the settings.

15. Tap “Next” and then tap “Finish”.

Suddenlink Email Settings For Outlook 2010

You can set up Suddenlink email on Outlook 2010 via the automatic account setup and manual account setup methods. For both the methods, the Suddenlink email Outlook settings have been given below. 

Suddenlink Email Set up for Outlook 2010 (Automatic):

1. On your system, launch Outlook 2010.

2. Click on “File”, select “Info”, and head to ‘Account settings”.

Do not tick “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)”

“Use the following type of encrypted connection” should be set to “None”.
IMAP port settings:
Incoming Port: 143 
Outgoing Port: 25
Secure – Port: 993, Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Insecure – Port: 143, Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
Uncheck “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)”.

“Use the following type of encrypted connection” should be set to “None”.

Note: To use “Secure SSL/TLS settings”, select “This service requires a secure connection (SSL)” for outgoing as well as incoming mails.

9. Type in the following General SMTP port settings.

Outgoing (SMTP) Secure – Port: 465, Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Secure – Port: 587, Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Outgoing (SMTP) – Port: 25, Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)

10. For saving the settings, press “Ok”.

11. To close, click on “Next” and press “Finish”.

I am trying to connect my suddenlink.net email account to my outlook.com email account These instructions really work.

Does not work with Outlook 2019. There is no option to enter a username, just options to enter an email address and password.
