  • Silvie Horner says:

Hello I have a Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M177fw and I only had it for abut 2 years now. Everytime I use the top feeder to copy or fax it keeps saying paper jam. I’ve tried everything. I’m not sure what else to do but buy another one but I paid almost 400.00 for this one. Any suggestion?

    • Silvie, I have the same printer with the same problem and paid the same price! It’s really annoying and I’ve opened the document feeding (and everything else) about 50 times. There is NO paper jam. I can print, but this error only happens when I use the document feeder on the top, therefore faxing and copying is more difficult as I have to use the flat tray feeder. This printer has NOT been used much at all. I did purchase a number of years ago, but there is no way of any over use or mishandling that would have caused this!!! Really frustrating when you pay a lot of money for something, and it does not last!!! It seems to start to move for a fraction of a second and it does detect a paper in the feeder, but then I get the infamous false “document jam” error that seems to be impossible to clear…

    • Hello again. I have an update! I found this on another site, and this worked for me! This method fixed my document feeder! I think the problem was this little rubber pad in the middle of the feeder when you open the feeder up, but I rolled all the other rollers as well when inside the feeder. Try and follow this:
“OK, so I followed the instructions online for the “jam” and “false jam” at least a dozen times. Also, I stayed and followed the suggestions of the HP cat. A few hours later and no success what-so-ever, I finally called HP customer service for a refund.

The gentleman I spoke to the HP Customer Service was AWESOME. Long story short, he walked me through a few things that I already had, but at the end he told me:

      1. roll each roll that I could reach in the document feeder, just to release what it is stuck.

      2. place a document on the flat bed scanner and try to copy.

fixed my problem! It’s somehow reset the printer or caused the error to “look” somewhere other than this error. He took a solid 2-3 minutes to “think” about the analysis, but eventually copied the document and executed perfectly. It’s been several days and the printer has played perfectly every time.”

I had just gotten my HP ENVY 5000 All-in-One Printer Series and I am already having such major difficulties: After finally getting printer set up to my device(s), I’d been notified that there was a paper jam. I’ve followed all of the steps as required and yet I am still encountering the same problems.

  • lovely kaye k. fernandez says:

i already follow all the pricedure but still paper jam error appear. and there is no paper on the tray, i think this is a false error. what can i do?? your hotlibe is not answering my calls.

  • On an ENVY(sic) 5052, there are two switches the paper supply tray seems to push in when the tray is in place. My printer shows this false jam error but I make the error go away for a little bit of time if I pull the paper tray out, then reach under the bottom of the printer and toggle both switches 5 or 6 times manually. Perhaps these switches need adjustment?

  • I followed all the steps religiously buy the hp printer paper jam error but no paper jam, it is still there. I guess i will have to contact a printer technician and let him check the inside of this printer

Hi it’s me, I am also visiting this web site on a regular basis, this web page is genuinely fastidious and the viewers are in fact sharing fastidious thoughts.

  • elena damon says:

Sometimes a paper jam error persists even though there is no jammed paper but it shows like it has Reset the printer, which might clear a false paper jam error, and then try to print again. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. and it will done
